* There are NO 1 stop flights, and most flights would require you to have at least 22 hours layover. When you plan your travel consider this. And, technically, you will be in flight mode for 2 days and nights, on the way back. Flying in takes about 14-16 hours, flying back about 57 hours. ​​

This is an Arctic circle area with mostly Outdoor activities. They have some art galleries and theatre in town, they also have a nature celebration festivals, like Sun Festival on March 6-8, 2025. 

There are many great online resources to show your the  full picture of the lifestyle of this archipelago.  

Svalbard Museum is 12 minutes walk from the hotel. Nordover Art gallery and Billedkunstner Olaf Storø Gallery are about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Artica Svalbard is only 15 minutes walk.

They also often have music concerts during the  Spring/Summer season, between April through October.  I follow Cecilia Blomdahl for all natural updates on Svalbard Lifestyle since 2019. She is a very unique content creator, very likeable and kind.

This is hotel close to downtown. Hotel has 1 on-site restaurant, Nuga Sushi Bar.  PopUp Norge Restaurant is about 10 minutes drive from the hotel, near airport area. Gruvelageret 

and Coal Miners' Bar & Grill are the farthest restaurants to downtown settlement, but it's only 5 minutes drive, or 45 minutes walk... Huset Restaurant  is about 5 minutes drive or 35 minutes walk from the hotel. Funken Restaurant 

is about 25 minutes walk or 4 minutes drive from the hotel. ​Polfareren Restaurant, Restaurant Kroa (Steakers Svalbard AS) and Svalbar - Pub & Cocktails are all within 10 minutes walk. ​Vinterhagen Restaurant & Peisen Bar and Mary Ann’s Restaurant are within about 10 minutes walk.​ Restaurant Nansen is all within 10 minutes walk. 

Tio Monchos Mexican, Saenphet Thai and Stationen are all about 10 minutes walk. ​There are 3 more Russian restaurants in Barentsburg: Rijpsburg Restaurant, Red Bear Pub & Brewery and Centra Svalbard, about 30 miles from downtown,  but ...  they are not accessible by roads. There are no roads that lead there.​ Shopping, with other restaurants, within short driving and walking distance are available.
