Cape Breton Highlands National Park is within 1 hour 50 minutes drive. Your hotel is the closest and most comfortable lodging in the area, unless you prefer camping overnight instead of driving for 4 hours, round trip. Read this before traveling. Nova Scotia and Cape Brenton Island has a lot of very useful information about local travel.

Old Sydney Society is within 10 minutes walk from the hotel, Membertou Heritage Park is about 30 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive.  Low Point Lighthouse is within 25 minutes drive from the hotel. Sailing CBI Boat Rental is within about 1 hour drive. They offer charters. 

Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design is within 5 minutes walk. Cape Breton Miners Museum is within 26 minutes drive. Devil's Hills Falls are also about 26 minutes drive from the hotel. Gillis Lake Falls are about 25 minutes drive, St James Falls are within 30 minutes drive.
